A Novel by Dez Udezue
Love is hate.
The Story
The last war left millions dead. Its cause was love.
Heaven assigns angels to one another in Joinings. Reproduce, obey, and never love a human. Those who break the law are cast into Hell—so is anyone who hides them.
Haniel is the angel Heaven sends when love becomes a crime. Now the sinner is Ceraphel—the angel Heaven Joined to her.
Ceraphel has chosen Eve, a human. When fear of Heaven’s judgment threatens to drive her away, he takes her into the Garden of Eden to win her back. Eve survives a calamity that should have killed her—and returns changed in a way Heaven cannot allow.
The law Haniel serves and the love Ceraphel protects cannot both survive.
Ceraphel will risk Hell for Eve.
Haniel has sent others there for less.
Eve may now have the power to stop her.
This time, love may finish what the last war began.
